Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport
We have been involved with the development of the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport since 1981.
GMC assisted the Pigeon Forge Authority in expanding its GA hangar area, developing a new terminal area and removing obstructions of the Part 77 surfaces.
GMC assisted in the development of an airport layout plan, new airport terminal, maintenance building, emergency medical helicopter hangar and several infrastructure rehabilitation projects. In 2016, GMC removed a hill that violated the approach to Runway 28, which involved the excavation of approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of material.
An additional project involved removing and replacing a settlement on the runway that was creating a safety issue for airport users as well as seal coating and marking the entire airport. A new airport layout plan and a runway relocation that will move the entire runway 100′ north is underway.
