Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) has expanded its landscape architecture services to the Carolinas with the addition of Tripp Barrineau as vice president of landscape architecture in the firm’s Charlotte office. His almost two-decade career includes working with municipalities, architects and private developers to achieve their vision. He has a passion for preserving the natural environment in his planning of greenways, streetscapes, trails, creek restoration, environmental improvements and more.

Barrineau has been involved in everything from community master planning to recreational site design and landscape architecture for projects in the Carolinas and throughout the Southeast. He understands the responsibility of communicating with each stakeholder, including the client, community members and project partners to ensure success.

“I am excited to join the GMC team and proud to be a part of a close-knit collaborative organization,” says Barrineau. “I am looking forward to expanding the GMC footprint and serving clients throughout the Carolinas. I am extremely enthusiastic to continue my passion for landscape architecture and partnering with local communities and municipalities to grow and prosper in the future.”

Barrineau’s portfolio consists of a multitude of impactful community projects, including the Lindsay Pettus Greenway (Lancaster, S.C.); Walter Elisha Park and Amphitheater (Fort Mill, S.C.); City of York City Park (York, S.C.); and more.

Barrineau is a registered landscape architect in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. He received his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Clemson University.
