Goodwyn Mills Cawood relocates Charleston office
June 7, 2023 · Announcements
Architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) has relocated its Charleston office to the Charleston Technology Center on the Upper Peninsula.
“Our team is excited to be located on the ground floor of the Charleston Tech Center,” Gable Stubbs, GMC vice president of architecture and Charleston office leader, said. “Located in North of Morrison (NOMO), one of the fastest up-and-coming areas on the Charleston peninsula and adjacent to the city’s historic district, the Charleston Tech Center is a hub for creative and tech businesses. With numerous nearby amenities including fitness centers, breweries, bars and restaurants within a one-mile radius, our team will be able to enjoy a work/life balance.”
GMC’s Charleston presence has expanded immensely since bringing on Stubbs and aviation engineering leader Jack Mayfield, followed by geotechnical engineer Stephen Nickerson in October.
Earlier this year, GMC acquired Walker Concepts Architecture, adding architects Jimmy Walker, Josh Bagwell and Ben Story to the team. Walker Concepts has extensive experience in the Lowcountry with expertise designing within the local historic context of the community. They have worked on numerous historically-significant projects throughout the region as well as a variety of multifamily, mixed use, office, retail education and adaptive reuse projects.
GMC is currently working on several local and regional projects, including the Daniel Island Yacht Club, the Kiawah River Farmstead Market, 35 Prioleau Street and the Beaufort-Jasper YMCA.
The new Charleston office address is 997 Morrison Drive Charleston, South Carolina 29403.
