GMC Disaster Recovery leader to speak at National Hurricane Conference
April 3, 2023 · People
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) Executive Vice President of Disaster Recovery Robert Ramsey will be presenting at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans on “Utility and Public Works Damage Documentation for Insurance or Reimbursement.”
During a crisis, focus on detailed, accurate damage and repair documentation can be neglected. In his presentation, Robert will discuss the importance of field assessments conducted by damage assessment teams capturing damage information, and restoration and repair crews documenting detailed and accurate information related to personnel, equipment and material used to make those repairs. In addition, he’ll share insights on why having robust documentation, including photos, benefits applicants responding to Requests for Information (RFI), filing insurance claims and populating and submitting applicable agency applications for reimbursement.
Since launching GMC’s Disaster Recovery division in 2017, Ramsey and his team have worked diligently to aid communities before and after disasters strike. Through their partnerships with municipalities and utility clients, they have successfully recovered millions of dollars in FEMA reimbursement funds to help communities recover and restore, in addition to establishing repeat on-call and emergency contracts with entities throughout the Southeast.
