Walker Concepts Architecture joins Goodwyn Mills Cawood in Charleston

Architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Walker Concepts Architecture in Charleston, South Carolina. Walker Concepts’ three-person staff, including Jimmy Walker, AIA; Josh Bagwell, AIA, NCARB; and Ben Story, AIA, NCARB, will join GMC’s Charleston team, led by Vice President of Architecture Gable Stubbs, AIA.

Walker Concepts has decades of experience in the Lowcountry. Their team has become experts in designing within the local historic context and is a go-to firm for those looking to develop in the Charleston area. They have worked on numerous historically-significant projects throughout the region, as well as a variety of multifamily, mixed use, office, retail, education and adaptive reuse projects. Some of their most notable education and commercial clients include the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), The College of Charleston, Porter Gaud, Ashley Hall, Daniel Island Company, Augusta National Golf Club, Spring Island and Brays Island, among others.

The Walker Concepts team will move into GMC’s new Charleston office located in the Charleston Technology Center once renovations of the space are completed later this spring.
