Denise King named one of Mobile Bay’s 40 under 40

Engineering project manager Denise King of Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) has earned a spot in Mobile Bay Magazine’s 2023 Class of 40 Under 40.
Since joining GMC in 2009, Denise has elevated through the firm based on her work ethic, passion for her profession and ability to lead those around her. Denise focuses primarily on serving water and wastewater projects for public sector clients throughout the Gulf Coast. She served as the project manager for the Riviera Utilities Wastewater upgrade, which received many international awards for sustainability and reduced energy expenditure. She also served as the project manager for the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System sewer upgrades along Three Mile Creek. Through this project, Denise and her team were able to encourage revitalization to this area of the Mobile community by alleviating impaired and threatened waters.
Denise’s passion for promoting women engineering is made clear through her work in the community. She conducts speaking engagements at Davidson High School’s STEM program as well as at the University of South Alabama’s Society of Women Engineers. She holds a strong voice in the community by being involved in many programs like Mobile United Leadership Mobile, Gulf Coast Exploreum Junior Advisory Board, the University of South Alabama Civil Engineering Department Board and more.
Denise graduated with a Bachelor of Civil in Engineering from Florida State University and is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
