He has more than 30 years of experience in multidisciplinary project planning, design and construction management on complex aviation projects, serving both air carrier and general aviation airports.
Throughout his career, Mayfield has worked for reputable engineering consulting firms, serving in roles including vice president, director of aviation services, senior project manager and aviation consultant. His extensive portfolio of work includes airport improvement projects throughout the region, including local airports such as Charleston Executive Airport (JZI) in Johns Island, Mount Pleasant Regional Airport (LRO) in Mount Pleasant, Allendale County Airport (AQX) in Fairfax and Santee Cooper Regional Airport (MNI) in Manning.
