GMC expands architecture team in Georgia

GMC is pleased to welcome Cassie Beckwith and William Palladino to the architecture team in Georgia. Beckwith joins the firm as an architectural designer and local liaison in Savannah, and Palladino will lead GMC’s architecture practice in Augusta.

“We are thrilled to bring Cassie and Bill on board,” Amy Bell, GMC Vice President of Architecture in Georgia, said. “They both possess diverse experience and will help us better serve our clients throughout the state of Georgia.”

Cassie Beckwith has more than 14 years of architectural experience, in both the roles of business development and project management. A native of Texas, she moved to Savannah in 2003 to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned her Master of Architecture in 2007. As architectural designer and local liaison, she will be responsible for managing architecture projects within Savannah and surrounding areas, interfacing with clients and coordinating with the design and construction teams.

Cassie has been highly active in the community, most notably through her work with Urban Hope. She has served on the board since 2009 and helped create the organization’s two annual fundraising events, the Pee Wee Rodeo and Chefs and Chocolates. Cassie has been recognized for her involvement in the community over the years, including being named the “Education and Youth Development Volunteer of the Year” by the United Way of the Coastal Empire in 2018 and a “Rising Star in Business” by Savannah Magazine and The Savannah Morning News in 2015.

Bill Palladino, AIA, NCARB, is a registered architect and project manager with more than 14 years of experience. As the architecture leader in GMC’s Augusta office, he will be responsible for managing architecture projects within Augusta and surrounding areas. With a decade of information technology and network administration experience prior to starting his architecture career, Bill is uniquely specialized in the integration of technology into buildings and their systems. He has managed data center, service center, demonstration and information security projects across the country for clients such as Unisys, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Assured Information Security (AIS), among others.

Bill has also worked on local projects throughout Augusta and the surrounding areas, some of which include renovations to Glenn Hills High School (Augusta, Ga.); construction of Bioscrip Infusion Services Center (Augusta, Ga.); Order of St. Helena Convent and Monastery (North Augusta, S.C.); Willison-Elko High School renovations (Williston, S.C.); Richmond County Sheriff’s Department Substation (Augusta, Ga.); the Powell Pointe Senior Living Community (Augusta, Ga.); and many more.

A registered architect in Georgia, South Carolina and Utah, Bill is an active member and chapter president of the American Institute of Architects, member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and U.S. Green Building Council, and serves on the Building Code Board of Appeals for the City of North Augusta, S.C. He earned his bachelor’s degree in design at Michigan State University Honors College in 2003, followed by a master’s degree in architecture at the University of Florida in 2007.
