Officials break ground on Creekside Elementary School expansion

Administrators from Limestone County Schools, the Limestone County Commission and North Alabama legislators joined the project team to break ground on the Creekside Elementary School expansion.
The addition will help accommodate Creekside’s rapidly increasing enrollment and will house the third through fifth-grade students once it is completed.
“Right now our enrollment is over 1,000 students, and we have over 200 students outside of the building,” said Principal Matt Scott. “With the expansion, we’ll bring all of our students inside of the building and will provide a safer and more comfortable day for our students.”
The expansion will feature more classrooms, additional parking and reinforced storm-safe areas to shelter students and the community in the event of severe weather.
Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood is the project architect for the expansion, which is slated for completion next spring.
