This project has survived design conditions in both Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina. GMC’s coastal engineer team (formerly South Coast Engineers) designed this project's coastal engineering aspects, including the overall concept and the structure and sand configuration. The shoreline has adopted a permanent, equilibrium shape in response to the wave climate and the structure configuration, which is very similar to the shoreline shape predicted during design. This is another example of how GMC's projects have worked well for decades.
GMC is one of the most comprehensive multi-disciplined architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
