About GMC Augusta

Augusta is a rare find – a perfect mix of nature, history, diversified industry and excellent housing value. A thriving art scene and vibrant downtown, replete with restaurants, shops and bars, add to the high quality of life. There’s also year-round golf, as one would expect, with Augusta being the home of the Masters tournament.

The mild climate encourages outdoor activities virtually all year long, with access to the Savannah River, the Augusta Canal and Clark’s Hill Lake (aka Strom Thurmond), giving residents and visitors plenty of opportunity for boating, fishing, water skiing and camping.

The city sits on I-20 between Atlanta and Columbia, with every major artery of Southeastern Interstate within easy reach, especially I-95 and I-77. In addition to fantastic access to the highways, we’re a stone’s throw (less than 150 miles) from the ports of Savannah and Charleston.

GMC designed a state-of-the-art Emergency Vehicle Operations Center for public safety driving training. Sheriff’s deputies, emergency medical service personnel, firefighters, and other public safety officials who require driver certification to operate their respective public safety vehicles utilize this course for training.
